A Very "Unwedding" Story

Sorry this is a day late.  We got caught up in creating some fabulous food for a retirement party for a professor at George Washington University's School of Engineering and Applied Science.  If you ever need anything, just give us a call.  Now on to our story of the week.
We make some beautiful and elegant wedding cakes, but those stories are always plentiful.  So we thought you would enjoy this very “UNWEDDING” story.  We always have fun and a good sense of humor, which are the keys to our sunny dispositions!  About two years ago, we stumbled into unchartered waters - we had a client who wanted to celebrate the finalization of her girlfriend’s divorce that evening.  The client brought in some stereotypical designs of blood, gore, and knives.  We have a cardinal rule at the bakery, nothing too vulgar – so how could we say no to that challenge.
This just happened a few days after Valentine’s Day, so we had to transform from hearts, kisses, and everlasting love to broken love.  Victoria’s mind was brainstorming and came upon the miniature silver platters and a broken wedding cake topper that was missing the groom’s head…..  Wasn’t that convenient?  After a fun brainstorming session with Emily and some other female colleagues, the cake was born.  To make the story even better, we decided that Luis, our sole male at the bakery that day, should be given the honor of creating the final masterpiece!
So, enjoy the fruits of our labor, have a good laugh and take in the details on this cake.  We have the property division line, on which she can sail off into FREEDOM with beautiful palm trees while he can get toasted in the flames of you know where!  And at the very end, that broken cake topper made its appearance, with the groom’s head on a silver platter to top it all off.  The client loved the cake and was laughing as we told her not to shake the cake box too hard!
So if you want to make a statement with your dessert, call your team at Cakes by Happy Eatery.  Join us again next Tuesday for a new story.  In the mean time, visit us at www.CakesbyHappyEatery.com.  Mention our blog when you visit us through Friday, April 1 for a free cupcake!
